Jesse Zink researches the history, theology, and practice of African churches, particularly those in historic mission denominations, as well as developments in Protestant missionary thinking in the 20th and 21st century. His doctoral research at Cambridge University concerned the growth and development of the church in South Sudan during the civil war in the 1980s and 1990s.
He has also published on the relationship between Anglicanism and Pentecostalism in Nigeria, the ecclesiology of Rowan Williams, and developments in Anglican mission thinking in the post-war era.
