Librarian

Ruth MacLean was born to missionary parents and spent her early childhood in Turkey and then London where they worked with Turkish-speaking communities and churches. She gained a BA(Ed) (Hons) degree from Durham University and then moved into Librarianship, working first in Durham hospital’s Medical Education Centre library, and then in the Haddon and SPS libraries of Cambridge University before becoming librarian of the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide in 2014. She gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Information and Library Studies from Aberystwyth University in 2021.

Married to Donald John MacLean, an elder in the Cambridge Presbyterian Church (Evangelical Presbyterian Church of England and Wales), a trustee of the Banner of Truth and Tyndale House, assistant professor of Westminster Seminary UK and editor of Foundations – Affinity, an international journal of evangelical theology, they have two children, Hannah and Jonathan. Her key interests are theology, mission, and the Scottish highlands and islands.
