Mrs Ruth MacLean
Librarian
Ruth MacLean was born to missionary parents and spent her early childhood in Turkey and then north London where they worked with Turkish-speaking communities and churches. She gained a BA(Ed) (Hons) degree from Durham University and then moved into Librarianship, working in Durham’s main teaching hospital in the Medical Education Centre library, and then in the Haddon and SPS libraries of Cambridge University before becoming librarian of the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide in 2014. She gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Information and Library Studies from Aberystwyth University in 2021 and in 2024, began work for Global Action and occasional proofreading for the Banner of Truth.
Married to Donald John MacLean, an elder in the Cambridge Presbyterian Church (Evangelical Presbyterian Church of England and Wales), President of Westminster Seminary UK, a trustee of the Banner of Truth and Tyndale House, and editor of Foundations – Affinity, they have two children, Hannah and Jonathan. Her key interests are theology, mission, and the Scottish highlands and islands.
