Grief, Resilience, and Hope amid the Pandemic
Our 2022 World Christianity Summer Institute is organised by Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide, in collaboration with Theological Education in the Anglican Communion (TEAC) and Rose Castle Foundation (RCF). The theme is ‘Grief, Resilience, and Hope amid the Pandemic’.
Dates 18-22 July 2022 (Monday-Friday)
Venue Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide
We will welcome: theological students, educators, researchers and any Christian interested in learning about Christianity in other parts of God’s world.
We will focus on: how the Covid-19 pandemic is impacting churches and their communities, locally and worldwide, and how they are responding.
We will explore:
- Stories of suffering and grief
- Examples of resilience, hope and faith
- Biblical and theological insights
We will listen attentively: to God and to each other while we consider working together to create better societies built on care, compassion and justice, as we live through this pandemic.
We will worship and eat together daily, have opportunities to see the Centre’s renowned Library and Archives, and have time to discover the joys of Cambridge.

The Summer Institute will be a wonderful opportunity to listen to, and have conversations with, an excellent range of speakers, mentors and supporters. We will have two workshops, one on listening to each other’s stories of grief, resilience and hope, and the other on ‘Action at Home’ projects – both workshops facilitated by the Rose Castle Foundation (RCF) Team.
Some reading materials to prepare for the Summer Institute will be sent in advance to the participants.
As well as sessions and workshops, there will be special events, including a Cambridge tour of important historical places in Cambridge. Please see here for more information.
