Academic Coordinator

A rare opportunity has arisen for the academic role of Academic Coordinator at the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide.

As Academic Coordinator, you will support the Centre’s students in the Federation and liaise with the Cambridge Theological Federation over student registration, teaching, supervision and associated processes; help with running the Centre’s termly research seminars and other events; support recruiting CCCW Research Associates and organise research events and projects involving them; assist the Director in teaching and supervision in the CTF; work with the Director, Trustees and other CCCW staff on the Centre’s strategic planning and implementation, with a particular focus on income generation; and help with maintaining and updating the CCCW website and its social media presence.

Specific responsibilities include:

1. Students

  • Responding to queries from potential students, visiting research scholars and research associates. Offering the first response to enquiries and passing these on to relevant staff, as required.
  • Supporting students applying to, and registered on, courses through the Cambridge Theological Federation. Arranging meetings with students, helping with module registration and monitoring their module uptake and participation.
  • Maintaining student records.
  • Extending pastoral care to the students.

2. Teaching and supervision

  • Supporting the Director in teaching, supervision, and marking/examining.

3. Research seminars and other events at the Centre

  • Working with the CCCW Director and the Divinity Faculty World Christianities Lecturer in organising seminars, finding seminar speakers, recording and editing the videos/audios of lecturers for the CCCW YouTube channel.
  • Supporting the organisation of the biennial Henry Martyn Lecture and dinner
  • Helping in other Centre events involving researchers, Encounter bursary recipients, and the network of Friends of the CCCW.

5. Research Activities at the Centre

  • Research Associates
  • Working with the Director on proposals for research project funding, grant proposals for conferences, summer courses and other research activities at the Centre.
  • Supporting the annual Summer Institute and other research events at the Centre, including conferences and workshops.
  • Supporting work related to CCCW publications.

4. CCCW website and social media

  • Liaising with the Director and other CCCW staff in maintaining and updating the CCCW website.
  • Promoting CCCW work and events on social media.
