The CCCW will reopen virtually from Mon 2 November.  This means staff will be working online and appointments to collect or return library books will be available.

Canon Sarah Snyder, the Henry Martyn Trust’s new Chair

We are very happy to welcome Canon Sarah Snyder as our new Chairperson of the Henry Martyn Trust.

Sarah is a leader in peace and reconciliation. She was Special Advisor for Reconciliation
to Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and was Director of Partnerships with Religions for
Peace International, a UN-affiliated body, until 2016.
Sarah is the founding director of Rose Castle Foundation.

CCCW & Tearfund Report: Listening To The Local Church in Conflict-Affected Fragile States

This report is a result of a six-month research project undertaken by Tearfund and CCCW in collaboration. Fieldwork was conducted in 2019 in South Sudan, Syria and Lebanon. The role of the church in seven fragile countries with protracted conflicts is reviewed – Syria, Iraq, Myanmar, Burundi Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.

Meet the new Intercultural Encounter Coordinator

Marietta van der Tol

Marietta is the new  International Encounter Scheme at the Centre from October 2019.
She is a PhD-candidate in Politics and International Studies at the University of Cambridge. Before she came to Cambridge, she studied History of Christianity at Yale Divinity School (USA) and Constitutional law and Socio-political history at Utrecht University (The Netherlands).
